The major looks and inspirations, the winning colors and accessories: Première Vision’s fashion teams have picked through the latest articles in our online Magazine to steer you effortlessly through Spring/Summer 22’s key menswear trends.

Fun, optimism and the pursuit of freedom are the bywords of Spring/Summer 22 menswear. Free of style and gender conventions, worked in vibrant colors, refreshing pastels and an explosion of prints, looks are deftly articulated between sophisticated casual wear and sporty citywear.

Read on for a closer look at the must-have trends featured in our Magazine.

SILHOUETTES

Who said seduction and comfort don’t mix? Spring/Summer 22 menswear clearly proves the opposite. On the menu: city silhouettes that confidently mix up codes… and genders.

Variations on raw denim create faux navies, and a new fluidity emerges around supple, satiny materials. Far from losing steam, the Sport influence continues to dominate this season’s urban looks, reflected in high-performance materials and functional details.

With a flair for exaggeration, natural materials grow more sophisticated – especially cottons and linens –  for clothing with expanded volumes making a barely disguised wink at 90s-era workwear.

Looks targeting Sport & Tech are built around a sensual and comfortable Outdoor aesthetic. Running like a leitmotif throughout these products is a new fluidity in terms of materials, shapes… and genders. Also notable: references to mountain sports and trekking, with playful and friendly vintage accents that give a lively boost to the season’s silhouettes. Colorblocks worked in dissonant, punchy color codes, an embrace of unambiguously Tech but sustainable materials, and accessories inspired by climbing all elevate your style potential to new heights!

CUTS AND PRINTS

Designers continue to explore new forms of expression around the suit, and menswear Essentials are betting on boldness!

Pieces in minimalist, pared-down shapes come in both XXS and XXL versions.

Satiny or transparent, shirts embrace their feminine side. Part luxurious loungewear, part light and loose kaftan, they exude a sensuous, nonchalant comfort.

Decorative expressions in SS 22 menswear reveal a yearning for escape, with designs immersed in the universe of video games and virtual worlds. Yet nature remains an endless source of inspiration as well. Floral and plant motifs are lush and exuberant, breaking free of the frame and worked in XXL versions. Imbricated shapes in the form of ultra-colorful neo-collages evoke the Memphis design movement.

A 90’s-influence once again emerges to surround us in a soothing and caring atmosphere, with soft solar tie-dyes and graduated tones.

Running throughout all sectors, the quest for comfort makes its way into jeanswear, with loose cuts and full kimono jackets borrowing from the codes of homewear worked in supple and lightweight fabrics. In another register, natural blends – including cotton, linen and hemp – also play a key role in the season’s denim collections. Fabric weaves are quite visible, in keeping with the outsized volumes of jackets, cargos and baggy jeans.

COLORS

Color is the chief mischief-maker in the SS 22 menswear collections, with a particular focus this season on pastels, shades of pink and chromatic accidents. Hovering between liberated ostentation and openly embraced sensitivity, color espouses all that menswear champions this season.

Color is also a way to give a little twist to overly rigorous tailored cuts.

Front and center in this trend are womenswear-inspired pastels, which now confidently overtake menswear classics. Minimalist-looking jacket-and-short suits are worked in mauve. Minty colors update traditionally-cut jackets and pants. Pinks in all their harmonies are visible in astonishing color combinations or in monochromes, even in accessories.

For sportier items, colors range from peppy vitamin-boosted shades – oranges and yellows – to pastels typically linked to well-being. Nature is in the spotlight, thanks in particular to the range of greens, from acidic to minty.

BAG & SHOES

Whether mini or maxi, bags vaunt a taste for excess. Their only prerequisite is meeting the new desire for nomadism!

Shoes are offbeat. Strappy sandals are moving away from natural shades to adopt the colors of the season. Which is one way to achieve a head-to-toe monochrome look! Sneakers are always a must-have, showing off a new side this season through the use of contrasting materials and ultra-sharp colors.

It’s definitely going to be a fun and gender-fluid season!
