The Update survey, conducted in October – November 2018, canvassed selected international buyers and women’s ready-to-wear brands to determine the essential products to inject into your autumn-winter 19 -20 collections now.
A season celebrating a strong inclination to a more casual approach, expressed in two ways:
on the one hand, a nonchalant and refined suppleness, to play in superimposed and contrasting materials, and on the other, a silky fluidity that envelops and accompanies motion.
A season of materials enhanced by technical excellence for everyday, where you can play with coordinated head-to-toe looks.
In a smaller yet nonetheless striking way, the autumn-winter season points to a return to dressier, structured looks, with a more tailored elegance.
Lots of fantasy, with:
– floral, animal, paisley and check decorations worked in large versions.
– leather, footwear or leather-goods accessories with snakeskin aspects and supple varnishes, and chic high heeled boots, ankle boots and their accessories.
– Warm, red, russet and orangey-red colours come together with dark tones, energised by the acidic venomous yellow and synthetic pink.
There’s a notable and specific turn to eco-responsible commitments. We see a measurable rise in eco-friendly stances, mostly in terms of responsible and ethical production: in all, 77% of respondents are already committed to such an approach or are planning to be.
