The Ushikubi-Tsumugi technique almost disappeared at a certain point around 1945-1950. My grandfather, who always loved Tsumuhi, was deeply concerned by the loss of this valuable traditional village craftsmanship. Our original vocation was public works, but we eventually took charge of village establishments, establishments which had stopped this practice, and we undertook the production of Ushikubi-Tsumugi.
