A new sector for scarves at Fabrics

To celebrate the wealth of materials and styles found in this textile accessory – a must-have for every occasion and season – Première Vision Paris is unveiling a new sector dedicated to scarves next September. The five, primarily Italian exhibitors are all specialized in designing and producing this multifaceted fabric item.

Gibiwear has been presenting seasonal collections of yarn-dyed and jacquard scarves, stoles, capes and headscarves in natural and sophisticated materials such as cashmere, wool, cotton and linen since 1985. This  tradition-steeped company has an original creative offer of scarves entirely made in Italy for winter and summer, and can also adapt its products to the most specific personalization needs.

Since 1947, MA.AL.BI. has been catering to the high-end men’s and women’s markets, producing items in exclusive prints, jacquard patterns and special dyes, with no minimum productions. Constantly updating its offer, this Italian company’s collections of woven scarves feature a delicate madras spirit in linen and blends for summer, and, for winter, wool and modal or silk blends with a cashmere plaid inspiration. The new AH 2019-20 collection remains true to the company’s classic influences, while embracing new trends. For example, cashmere basics now include double-faces with sable effects and featherweight double-voile stoles, for scarves ready to play a full role in all the latest total looks.

The third Italian company in the selection, Tessil-Novex, has been in the textile market for almost 50 years, working first in men’s ties, then men’s and women’s headscarves. Over time, the company has combined traditional Como-style prints with original research into both techniques and prints. The latest collections are focused on blends (modal, wool and natural fibres) enhanced by placed prints and eco-fur and sequinned appliqués, which can all be fully personalised for its clients’ own projects.

Personalization is also at the heart of the offer at Italy’s Pool Trend S.r.l., in business since 1996. This scarf and textile accessories specialist is betting on constantly innovated trends and style with a guaranteed quality and the traceability of its materials throughout the textile production chain.

Inner Mongolia Cashmere Products Co. was founded just a year earlier, but on the other side of the globe. With 30% of all the cashmere in the world at its disposal, the Chinese producer specializes in making cashmere and wool scarves for the international market, showcasing the most luxurious wool fabrics thanks to an in-house style office where skilled Asian and European designers pool their talents. The result? Featherweight cashmere scarves with delicate jacquard patterns or tone-on-tone cut-yarn designs, and scarves made from novel natural and synthetic fibre blends enriched with metallic threads, prints and brushings. A careful attention to traceability and a respect for the environment are also company priorities. Here, wool and silk scarves go beyond providing functional protection from winter’s cold to become fashion accessories in their own right, which can be also used for leather goods and hair and shoe accessories.
