Johnstons of Elgin extends the themes initiated last winter with an autumn winter 18/19 collection developed around three main directions:
– Natural cashmere. In this story the company has taken non-dyed fibres in natural colours and created fine-spun 100% cashmere yarn. This year, the styling focuses on structures such as a wide cord and a mock knitted structure to best highlight the luxurious handles and appearance achieved by the use of natural yarns.
– Technology. The company’s investments in new technology this year included a fine harness jacquard loom. It is used this winter to create coating fabrics with three and even four layers.
– Super Lux. Here the company’s premium cashmere is combined with a range of fibres to create a story reflecting the firm’s luxury heritage.
Combining cashmere and silk to create jacquards with shine, refined double fabrics and textured bouclé coatings.
New. JOHNSTONS OF ELGIN have designed playful wool checks, using fancy structures while mixing different yarn counts for all-over irregular looks. They have also designed a textured paisley jacquard in a mock leno weave.
