The “plique a jour” translucent enamelling technique
At February’s edition of the show, the specialists in fashion jewellery, Les Ateliers Tamalet, invite you to discover their creation based on the “plique a jour” technique.
The name “plique a jour” comes from the French term “appliquer à jour” where light shines through the translucent enamel layer.
Inspired by the Art Nouveau period, this technique involves depositing the enamel in cells that do not have any backing. After firing, the email adheres to the metallic edges of the cells, producing this translucent appearance.
On their stand, discover their designs of necklaces, earrings, bracelets and more for the SS20 season using this technique.
