Première Vision Performance Codes: leather

Divided into four main categories, the leather performance codes developed by Première Vision are essential tools for your sourcing efforts. Designed to facilitate product selection, they help you find the most suitable leathers and skins for building your next collections.

The “Eco-Responsible” performance codes offer labels information about more environmentally-friendly sourcing criteria for the leather sector. They take into account the entire production cycle and look at the material, the product finishes and the end-of-life cycle to identify sustainable initiatives in a global approach. The “Qualities” codes refer to the ease of maintenance of the leathers. The “Protections” codes apply to innovations offering greater protection of skins. And finally, the “Constructions” codes focus on the mechanical features of the material.

See a selection of leathers and skins using the Première Vision performance codes to help you build your future collections.

Recycled leather

Material consisting of a minimum of 30% leather waste or offcuts, leather fibres amalgamated with a binder, woven leather or a textile knit…

Low Impact Finishing

Treatments, dyes, printing and finishings resulting in a reduced use of chemicals and guaranteeing harmlessness to humans and the environment.

Waterless

Treatments, dyes, printing and finishings resulting in a reduction or absence of water consumption.

Traceability

Identification of the history of the material along its production chain, from the origin to its transformation until the finished product. They notably provide information about the origins of the skins used.

Biodegradable or compostable

Biodegradable or compostable material at end of life, in specific environments and conditions.
