For over 130 years, the name of Pontoglio has been associated with Velvet
Pontoglio S.p.A. stands on the banks of the Oglio river, where the headquarters of the productive, administrative and creative activities are still located. The ancient walls of the late nineteenth century are proof of a history that few industrial companies can boast, and visiting our mill is a journey into the history of velvet: a precious fabric and a manifesto of luxury. The mill is totally vertical, as weaving, dyeing , printing and finishing departments are all inhouse.
We are well known for our huge archive of designs and total flexible in developing any kind of exclusive print for all our customers. For over 130 years, the name of Pontoglio has been associated with Velvet and it is synonymous with continuous research in fabrics and high quality creativity.

The fabrics are produced following the latest sustainability protocols (ZDHC, BCI), with the utmost respect for the environment. There are four main themes of inspiration:
– Tye Dye explores dyeing effects. Corduroy, ultra-light velvet and cotton poplin for a casual and sophisticated total look, washed aspects and dry hands
– Denim is the new interpretation of jeans. Corduroy and cotton velvets both printed on the pile and on the reverse, for a double face with an intense textured blue impact. Designed for unlined garments, inspired by the iconic jeans cuff
– Dripping reinterprets the iconic artistic gestures thanks to printing effects. Designed for trousers and outerwear with a military and street taste, both on structured cotton bases obtained from uncut corduroy, and on fluid silk velvets
– Mimetic is an iconic theme dedicated to Camouflage, dominated by the neutral tones of camel and beige. The material interpretation is transversal, from chalk prints on linen to the soft corrosions dedicated to cotton velvet.
