Blossom PV: Discover the strengths of the Stylem ecosystem

In the lead up to the next Blossom Première Vision – the can’t-miss event dedicated to the Spring-Summer 2023 pre-collections – the Première Vision team shines a special light on the expert know-hows and excellence of its selected exhibitors.

Today we discover the strengths of the Stylem ecosystem.

Textile creativity between Japan and Italy

Founded in 1864 in Japan, the company that became Stylem Takisada-Osaka CO, LTD was initially specialised in the sale of kimonos. Today, the Japanese structure has become a major textile company with multiple activities and strategic locations around the world.

Its name, Stylem, was not chosen at random. It combines “Style” as an intangible value that enriches people’s lives, with “Ylem”, which refers to the fundamental substance at the origin of all matter.

In 2013, the Italian branch of the Japanese company moved to Prato, Tuscany, the birthplace of the Italian textile industry. A location with a strong symbolic value, as well as a key strategic importance to launch the production of its own fabric collections under the name “Le Tinte”. The textile creations developed by Stylem Italia are known for their wide variety of yarns, weaves and treatments, aimed at creating rich textile collections with luxurious colours and textures.

A talk with Marco Abeti, Sales Director of Stylem Italia S.R.L

Première Vision: How do you manage to stand out and anticipate tomorrow’s trends?

Marco Abeti: The whole spirit of our work in Prato, Italy, is to research and develop raw materials produced in Italy, to be able to develop our own fabric collections. We manage to stand out and anticipate tomorrow’s textile trends by taking inspiration from what’s around us, as well as participating in trend meetings.

PV: Why did you choose the Blossom Première Vision show to unveil your pre-collections?

MA: We chose Blossom Première Vision because the event is always very well organised and we really like the Carreau du Temple. It’s a very nice area in the centre of Paris and which is very convenient for our customers. We also think that the dates of the Blossom show are ideal to check our customers’ first commercial reaction to our new collections.

PV: Can you tell us about an innovation or material presented at the upcoming Blossom Première Vision show that the company is particularly proud of?

MA: For our Spring-Summer 2023 pre-collection, we have developed a series of jersey qualities enriched with linen yarns normally used in the creation of warp and weft fabrics.
