“Blossom is a showcase selection of the most beautiful materials collections” – Gilles Lasbordes

The Blossom Première Vision show, which will be devoted to the Spring-Summer 2023 pre-collections, returns this December 6 and 7 for an entirely physical, in-person edition. Nearly 110 suppliers of fabrics, leathers and accessory suppliers, all specially selected for their outstanding know-how, will be on-hand in a central Paris venue for two days of meetings and creative ideas.

In the run-up to this important return, Gilles Lasbordes, Managing Director of Première Vision, spoke with us about this can’t-miss event for the worlds of luxury and creative fashion.

• Blossom Première Vision returns this December for a 100% physical edition. Why is this event important for visitors and exhibitors?

Gilles Lasbordes : For the past 18 months, the health situation has limited or even prohibited gatherings. Now we finally have the chance to see each other! It’s time to talk in-person again, to discover and touch the collections that the most creative fabric, accessory and leather manufacturers are preparing.

Why is this pre-collections event such an essential complement to Première Vision Paris? What are its benefits and strengths?

GL : Blossom is both an advance event on the calendar in terms of Première Vision Paris, and is also a showcase selection of the most beautiful materials collections. It is a creative rendezvous for premium and luxury brands seeking materials to prepare their pre-collections.

The fashion calendar is still in turmoil due to the health crisis. Do you think that the pre-collection system will undoubtedly have to evolve?

GL : For now, we feel that buyers need an industry event early in the season. We’ll be paying attention to how the collection process at creative fashion brands evolves, and to any possible changes once the crisis is over.

Following Blossom Première Vision, what are the major Première Vision events not to be missed in 2022?

GL : We are returning to an almost normal show calendar for all of 2022 – Paris, Milan, New York, Portland, Shenzhen. The two major new initiatives for the coming year are the first edition of Denim Première Vision in Berlin, in May, and the new, changed date of Première Vision Paris, which will be held on July 5, 6 and 7, 2022, thus departing from its usual September date.
