At Berto Industria Tessile, every season we study future fashion trends and try to follow them in order to always give clients the best denim fabrics and ideas for their collection. Our aim is to become consultants for our clients and not only mere fabrics suppliers.

Following these trends, we introduce a new particular fiber or a new particular blend every season. For the previous Spring-Summer 23 collection, we introduced a special weft made with a blend of Tencel® by Lenzing and Linen. We decided to give importance to this blend in the next Fall-Winter collection as well, because it gives a unique image and touch to the fabric and also, and most importantly, because it is sustainable.

Linen is part of the bast fibres group, which support regenerative agricultural practices that can help the soil sequester carbon. Pure linen, being a biodegradable natural fibre, needs a fifth of the fertiliser required for cotton, less water to grow and draws carbon into the soil, making it a much lower-impact crop.

It’s also cooling, moisture-wicking, absorbent, breathable and durable, with inherent antibacterial, moth- and stain- resistant properties.

Tencel® by Lenzing is a cellulosic fibre extracted from wood pulp. The certified biobased fibers are manufactured using an environmentally responsible production process. The fibers are certified as compostable and biodegradable, and thus can fully revert back to nature.

As an absolute novelty for the AW 22-23 season we have woven another very interesting yarn with indigo dyed cotton: a Tencel® – Cashmere – Elastane blend. The cashmere used is traced and it comes from Mongolia, it ensures warmth and softness to the fabric and consequently to the garment and the wearer. Thanks to our experience we have been able to create a light and comfortable denim fabric that is soft and warm at the same time.

Last but not least, the “icing on the cake”, from this season we have in the collection two fabrics made with Dyneema® a high-performance polyethylene (HPPE) fiber, made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). The Dyneema® fiber is developed and produced by DSM, a chemistry multinational corporation. The Denim fabric made by Berto with Dyneema fiber is made with single layer technology and it is designed for the motorcycling and active wear world. It has got class AA for impact abrasion resistance.
