Fabrics readily embrace ornamentation, and vaunt ultra-sophisticated decorative techniques. Exuberance goes into overdrive. Enriched motifs flourish on weaves and laces, in a whole host of versions, generating plays on scale. There’s a constant back-and-forth between the infinitely large and the infinitely small, an interplay of gigantism and an eye for detail. Like a narrative mirror, woven compositions are worked inside patterns themselves, with miniature expressions of checks and houndstooths, for a dual-level reading. This maximalist decorative vein is also found in a cascading flourish of generous, sophisticated embroideries, embellished with beads, crystals and sequins, in a pure Baroque tradition of stylized excess.

A precious quality also evident in light effects, where glowing halos lend a vibration to motifs shot through with evanescent sparkles. Color is in motion, lines and shapes seem to undulate across the material.
