AW 26-27 Decodings: Designs
The Autumn-Winter 26-27 season opens with a quest for synergies, in a world reinventing itself through connections. More than a simple dialogue, it explores the richness of cultural references that are shared and reimagined.
In Designs, this energy takes shape through hybrid motifs and plural influences: kinetic turbulences, tactile imprints, luminescent blossoms, or modernized tapestries — aesthetic paths where links and contrasts intertwine to open up new visions.

Optical art and kinetic art have inspired turbulent patterns. Beneath their seemingly traditional appearances — reminiscent of jacquard effects or ikat weaves — these designs are disrupting classic stripes, checks and animal motifs, to create a sense of visual distortion or digital glitch. Their subdued color palettes — neutrals and pastels — add ambiguity, forging connections between technology and geology.

Delicate linework evades the eye. The patterns here are more suggested than perceived. Discreet botanical elements emerge from these subtle two-tone compositions, providing a sensory and sensitive approach. Graphic structures blend with tone-on-tone effects, and negative space appears to generate patterns, evoking the aesthetics of engraving.

Increasingly advanced research into living systems and biomimicry invites us to take a fresh look at the plant world. The inherently complex and mysterious botanical realm continues to fascinate and inspire innovative design solutions.
In these prints, flora emerges from the darkness and infuses surfaces with an enigmatic aura. Their representation spans various eras of the study of nature — from the precise lines of botanical drawings to the amplified shine of digital illustrations. The foliage bridges nature and technology to assume mysterious, sometimes almost menacing, forms.
Contemporary Tapestries
The world of tapestry inspires new placed patterns.
At first glance, one might think of traditional British wallpapers. Yet on closer inspection, this retro and comforting universe is revisited with freshness.
First of all, the subjects: some draw their inspiration from traditional florals or the Art Nouveau style, while others adopt a much more figurative and playful spirit. Next, the color palette: these tapestries open up to light and modernity, with combinations of rosy pinks, ochers and khakis that rejuvenate the patterns. Finally, the treatment: the patterns are sometimes graphic, sometimes sketched, while others simulate the materiality of embroidery.
