Bacus: A Culture of Excellence Since 1908

For more than a century, the House of Bacus has cultivated and brought together expertise in embroidery, fabrics, lace, threads and fringes.
From its very beginnings, it supplied the first Parisian couture workshops with crochet embroideries enhanced with beads, stones and sequins (the earliest made of gelatin). Today, thanks to its particularly advanced research and development capacity, Bacus collaborates with numerous couture houses in France and abroad. With more than 200 machines and some sixty looms, the company masters the entire creation chain—from threads to fabrics—offering exceptional craftsmanship.

By designing its own threads for the creation of trimmings, Bacus develops sophisticated collections with infinite possibilities for customization.

Atelier Val d’Argent: When Trimmings Meet Weaving

Born from the alliance of two areas of excellence—trimmings and weaving—the new tweed line from Atelier Val d’Argent, interlaced with the meticulous metallic braids of Bacus, brings an expressive and graphic fantasy with high added value.

Based in Charlieu, within BVTAL, the Atelier Val d’Argent is a genuine creative laboratory where ideas take shape to inject a touch of whimsy into tweeds. The integration of Bacus braids, threads and fringes into its textile weaves gives its creations a new dimension: captivating, graphic and refined.
The atelier develops its own threads and weaves at two sites integrated into the creative process, while drawing on the precious archives of both houses and the centuries-old heritage of the Val d’Argent weavers. This approach enables the development of unique threads, specially designed to enrich tweed collections.

This new line of tweeds aligns with the Autumn-Winter 26-27 orientations, inviting the recreation of bonds, emotion and meaning through materials. Between precious archives and ancestral know-how, their work reinterprets tradition in a contemporary language. The weaves become tactile, the threads reveal their materiality, and the fabrics gain a sensory intensity.
In this spirit of connection, Bacus and AVA highlight heritage while opening it up to collaboration, projecting local richness into a joyful, graphic and daring aesthetic.
