AW 26-27 Decoration Preview: New Dynasties, Radicalism and Counterculture
The first forward-looking scenario for the AW 26-27 season, New Dynasties, reflects a desire for rupture in response to contemporary disenchantment and instability. It illustrates the rise of a generation in search of intensity and meaning, challenging established norms and embracing gothic, punk, and irreverent aesthetics.
Silhouettes grow sharper, more theatrical, at times provocative. Colors harden: saturated reds, deep blues, dark greens, conveying a dramatic intensity. Clothing becomes an expression of rebellion and belonging to micro-communities. Dark solids are elevated with glossy or lustrous finishes: rich browns, burgundies, and elegant navy shades, alongside the natural shine of lustrous wools and calendered cottons.

Ornamental Mutations
A stylized flora unfolds between gothic ornamentation, Art Nouveau influences, and digital aesthetics. The sharp-edged motifs borrow their provocative energy from punk culture. Jacquards, embroideries, and laces evoke thorns and menacing foliage, barbed wire, or arabesques. At Sophie Hallette, lace is over-embroidered with the Cornely technique and adorned with glossy satin ribbons and ostrich feathers. Majestic in scale, these thorny lines expand across large formats to compose a décor both sumptuous and sharp.

Charred
Continuing in a dark, mysterious register, fantasy effects evoke fire, with smoky patterns and charred aspects.
Materials appear as though freshly pulled from the hearth, dusted with ash. From denim to lace, they are covered in blurred, random motifs, between tachism and smoky swirls. Metallic silks combine precious reflections with fluid surfaces, while technical fabrics with crushed effects take on sooty shadows.
Even more deliberately expressive, surfaces ignite with incandescent visuals. Between coal-dark tones and blazing flames, jacquard and print motifs flare up, drawing on the intensity of fire to create high-impact compositions. Flame memories and charred imprints define a fiery, uncompromising aesthetic.
