Reconciling femininity and comfort, this season’s sleepwear sets — tops and shorts — are accompanied by textured knits. An interplay of stitches appears in cotton and elastane blends and suggests a youthful allure. Such materials present the tension necessary to construct bras and bralettes. These feature a broad palette of ribbing, frequently in cellulosic blends that bring fluidity to baby–doll styles and tops. At times they’re transparent, embellished with more or less discreet openwork or cable stitching. Caracos with fine straps are adorned with delicate, feminine tuck pleats. 

Seamless construction gives lingerie products indisputable comfort. This season, seamless knitwear departs from the purely technical register of athletic gear to project itself onto bras and panties that reconcile aesthetics and technical performance. Bras and sports bras are made of lightweight materials that also provide support. Surface treatments range from shiny to invisible “second skin” that let product lines offer virtually invisible underwear. 

 The shapewear sector is changing fast. A far cry from the restrictive garments of yesteryear, new generation bodysuits and panties embellish the body without constricting it — a gambit made possible thanks to innovative materials that combine tension and elasticity. The result is high-waisted shorts and panties that refine the silhouette and allow for optimal freedom of movement. To meet high expectations for eco-responsibility, alternatives to traditional elastane include mechanical stretches and recycled elastane.   

Made of 100% cotton or a blend of recycled polyester, terrycloth fabrics are thick and plush while conserving a certain fluidity. Surface embellishments include embossing and floral or geometric motifs that display a certain whimsy. These materials are easily adapted to kimono shapes, as well as on indoor jump shorts. Sweatshirts, meanwhile, have ample, cropped shapes and pants flare gently at the ankle. 

Velvet brings serenity and well-being to everyday wardrobes, offering a wide range of creative propositions. Short-pile velvet evokes softness and comfort, combining with sportswear shapes for hybrid dressing both indoors and out. Materials are made of new blends: cottons mix with linen for a rustic visual aspect and a cozy hand or combine with cellulosics for enhanced suppleness. Zip hoodies pair with ankle-length joggers. These also may be worn with more urban attire, like cigarette trousers, creating a more relaxed and unisex cosmopolitan wardrobe. 

The desire to reconnect with the joys of travel, working in an office or practicing at-home sports such as yoga, requires more hybrid attire that can adapt to a variety of situations. To meet these new needs, cut–and–sew knitwear focuses on high quality materials, combining lightness and temperature regulating performance. Blends favor premium wools such as cashmere as well as alpaca and vicuña, whether pure or blended. Wools with hypoallergenic properties are used to fashion high-end garments with deliberately refined shapes. These ensembles are embellished with sporty chic details such as polo collars or feature wide track pants. Long, comfortable dresses are perfect for curling up during winter escapades. Completing the ensembles, woolen micro bras and oversized plaids are designed to be worn against bare skin.
