Première Vision highlights the key strengths of the Spring–Summer 27 season by craft and area of use: Tailoring, Shirting, Casualwear, Knitwear, and Silkies. These proposals, drawn from a refined analysis of the samples submitted by exhibitors and cross-referenced with the trends developed upstream by Première Vision’s teams and partners, provide clear and relevant insight for all markets.

Tailoring

Lightweight and climate-adaptive, pure wool in its finest weights combines elegance and comfort - even at the height of summer. Yet there is no reason to forgo blends when viscose, silk or linen are introducing that distinctive touch so prized in fancy weaves. Tailoring is emerging stronger, more durable and more desirable.

Woolen Suit

With their oxygenated colors, bleached slubs or softened checks, fine prunelles, flowing draperies and lightweight fabrics are promising suits with climate comfort from the very start of the season.

Crepe Curves

Heavier and rounder double crepes are asserting greater density, offering  a supple drape with a dry, cool hand feel.

Pure Linens

A botanical passion is running through tousled, straw-like tweeds, or basket-woven constructions, born of a craft that is at once rural and precious, blending twine-like hemp, wild silk and strands of lamé. As for linen, it stands confidently in its own right. Firm and clean, it is advancing through the tailoring world with a quiet strength and this rustic simplicity, through yarn-dyed threads without affectation that successfully impose a different vision of elegance.

Shirting

A desire for freshness is running through classic shirting. Bast fibers are bringing the crisp air of the countryside, while cellulosics and silk are contributing their characteristic shivering touch.

Shirting Fluid

Valued for their freshness, lightness and sophisticated sheen, silks are making their way into classic shirting. Silk is being blended with cotton, viscose, polyamide or Tencel™ Lyocell in ponges, twills and flowing, airy crepes that borrow their striped patterns from traditional shirting.

Authentically Made
Rustic shirtings, chambrays, linen canvases or blends are adorned with carefully crafted small motifs. Mini jacquards, weave effects, dobbies, garland florals, pointillist stripes and aligned eyelets are revealing the discreet delicacy of modest, yet skillful, constructions inherited from rural traditions.

Casual wear

From the heaviest to the lightest, from the most authentic to the most sophisticated, downy or glazed, casual wear is exploring the full spectrum of cotton fabrics, enhanced by linen, lyocell, polyester or wool, with each adding its own distinctive accent. Casual is expanding its territory, encompassing elegant fabrics for summer tailoring as well as high-performance solutions for chic, functional urban outdoor wear.

Softened Robustness

In pure cotton or blended with wool or cellulosics, workwear cottons are gaining roundness and softness. Through repeated washing, linen canvases are whitening and softening without losing vigor or firmness. Softened by treatments, substantial emerized twills, robust tickings and wide herringbones are relaxing into reassuring, comfortable fabrics.

Nobles Cottons

Finely constructed dense and crisp cotton satins and micro twills have the cool and soapy hand feel of technical textiles. Is this a mere resemblance or a true synthetic presence? These tight weaves reveal nothing on the surface. Whether pure cotton or blended, intended for tailored trousers or sport jackets, these fabrics share the same smooth surfaces, finished or lightly sanded.

Knits

New meterage knits are taking us back to slower times when fine knitwear was painstakingly handmade. They are inviting us to focus on these complex structures and fancy stitches that will really make all the difference.

Iconic Sweaterwear

This season is witnessing a return to ribs: flat ribs, Derby ribs, Richelieu ribs. Enough to personalize cut-and-sew collections and to elevate simple tops. Elongated and more elastic than jersey, they are hugging the body and refining lines without excess, elegantly adapting to every style, from sport to city.

Retro sport

With a subtle vintage feel, knits are reviving forgotten bindings, weighted stitches, reverse stitches, honeycomb piqués, plated knits, diamond stitch or wheat stitch. From afar, these read as simple stripes; up close, their discreet variations reveal all their charm. Between retro beachwear and streetwear, we love their slightly yellowed hues, like sepia photographs.

Soieries

From the most substantial to the most impalpable, silks are enchanting fashion. Loved for their shine, their iridescence and their expressiveness, they are finding a natural place this season, which is rich in decorative spirit, within a more joyful and colorful everyday wardrobe.

Couture Density

Crisp, lustrous and commanding, radzimirs, mikados, duchesse satins, faille, piqué damasks and weighted silks are doubling down on substance. Sometimes light and rigid, sometimes heavier and more fluid, they are asserting themselves boldly, enveloping space with their muscular roundness and making colors vibrate with brilliance.

Opalescent Lightness

At the opposite end, the almost-immaterial is emerging in airy, vaporous silks: quivering crepes, devoré chiffons, nylon organzas, delicate wisps and double gauzes in which colors are shimmering and weaving through transparencies, reflections and moirés created by layering.
