Since 1999, Brigitte Bonnave, founder of Brïdge, has gathered, stretched, bent, and manipulated glass by breath and flame. At 1200 degrees, glass takes on the rose-orange tint of dawn, signaling its pliability. After a final re-firing in the kiln, these glass pieces are accented with precious metals – mother of pearl, gold, platinum – via a method that Brigitte Bonnave herself developed.
Everything begins with tubes and logs of lead-free borosilicate glass, either transparent or colored. In constant pursuit of new forms and effects, she is always stretching her demands of glass further still. Her unique pieces are to be found in fashion and luxury realms, such as jewelry, adornment and accessories, as well as in interior design.
