“I love visiting the Maison d’Exceptions show because it encapsulates my vision of design: the confluence of art, craftsmanship, a culture of fine work and the general knowledge everyone of us has. It is the combination of all these elements that teaches our hands how to create not only works of art but also functional objects of our everyday life, whether garments, accessories or curtains.
Coming here means a lot to me because I think France has been lagging behind for the past few years. I have seen a lot of craftsmen go bankrupt and their craft disappear with them. Some fashion houses have thankfully managed to buy back their workshops and it is truly refreshing to see again today youngsters who are still obsessed with details.”
