Morse Felt Studio, a feeling for felt

Felt is a non-woven fabric, with the first felt artifact dating from the Neolithic period. The cultural, historical, artistic and sensory richness of this timeless textile spurred Morse Felt Studio – based in La Mulatière near the French city of Lyon – to adopt the process themselves.
Patience, concentration and physical energy are called for. The wool, sprinkled with warm soapy water, is extensively massaged, rolled and fulled by hand. Depending on the technique used – Nuno, continuous layer, shibori and many others – felt can be supple or rigid, lightweight or dense, transparent or opaque, rustic or refined.
Based on its years of experimentation and research, the company offers limited-edition lengths of unusual and surprising noble materials, truly contemporary products that translate its vision of luxury, for fashion, accessories and furnishings.
From February 12-14, 2013, Morse Felt Studio participates in Maison d’Exceptions, the space at Première Vision dedicated to haute création.
