Kirsty McDougall, Dashing Tweeds

For twelve years, Kirsty McDougall Woven Textile Design Studio has specialized in weaving and has collaborated with fashion industry actors to create custom motifs on Jacquard and Dobby looms as well as by hand in the style of tapestry. Their technical knowledge of the structural limits of weaving allow them to experiment and innovate with materials for textile development, delighting couture houses in search of the latest creations.

At the same time, the workshop can produce small-scale series in varied and uncommon formats – tweeds, furs, feathers, handpainted vinyl upholstery – sometimes deliberately aged. Combined with other experimental techniques in brushing, varnishing, washing and so on, they can provide perpetually surprising results.
From February 16-18, 2016, Kirsty McDougall participates in Maison d’Exceptions, the space at Première Vision dedicated to haute création.
