“I feel that the art world and product designs are becoming more interested in textiles. Sometimes textile is a quite hidden world because you never make the end product, you’re making something that is going to be made into something else. And I feel there is a move back particularly to woven textiles, and something which has integrity and structure, and a mix of materials.
And it’s about the haptic qualities, the touch as well, because there are so many screens and there are so many image-based things that I think people are interested in how things feel as well and I think woven textile is having quite an exciting time development at the moment and within the high-end fashion industry.”
