Il Borgo, The Art of Training

Every year since 2011 at Maison d’Exceptions, Italian workshop Il Borgo has presented a textile creation realized by the work of many hands. Each of these sculptural pieces is a way to unite the workshop production teams around a common project. They symbolize the strength of the network that revolves around company head Franco Fredducci.
Fredducci runs Il Borgo, which was founded in 1949 by his father-in-law, a real orchestra conductor of a leader. Attentive to the human factor, he successfully built a network of artisanal skills in the service of the largest luxury brands. Il Borgo also coordinates the work of forty women who work from home in the arts of knitting, crochet and macramé.
To transmit know-how and to expand its business, Il Borgo regularly organizes free training courses and internships that allow women who wish to learn needlecraft techniques to receive instruction. Thus, some of the works or textile sculptures also become means of learning and discovery.
From February 16-18 2016, Il Borgo participates in Maison d’Exceptions, the space at Première Vision dedicated to haute création.
