Adeline André, couture designer, at the Maison d'Exceptions show

(English subtitles available)
“I am particularly interested in different methods, whether artisanal or not, particularly all research into fabric development found in different companies. For quite a long time now I have been working with Japanese companies because Japan is a country that has fabrics that I can’t find anywhere else. Sometimes they are quite traditional fabrics coming from ancient kimonos, in the pure Japanese tradition, which are new to me and absolutely impossible to find the equivalent of in Europe. They demonstrate a really special craftsmanship. In short, for me, craftsmanship is an alliance between what preserves the past and the search for the future.”
