Tricolor: encouraging the rebirth of French wool

Première Vision, at the heart of the interdependence of trades and territories, illustrates its unifying role within the textile industry and initiates a series of collaborations between the French wool industry and the world of design.

The story of these adventures highlights the social and environmental challenges inherent in the design of a range of contemporary textile products made in France: eco-design, proximity of supplies, transparency of manufacturing processes, social responsibility…

Tricolor is a collaborative, transversal and 3-fold project:

#1 a collection of yarns and weavings made available to 50 brands and designers to bring new clothing, accessories and decorative objects to life, in collaboration with the manufacturers of the Made in France Première Vision trade show.

Knitting yarns (Filature Fonty, Creuse and Filatures du Parc, Tarn) and woolen cloths (Le Passe-Trame, Tarn) are entirely developed in France using all the know-how of the industrial sector to guarantee at 100% the traceability of the material. The colors of this range of textiles are designed without dyeing to make the most of the natural shades of the fleeces of 7 breeds of sheep spread all over France.

#2 a web series that reveals the backstage of the French wool industries (and accompanies the many stages of transformation of the material, from the animal to the final consumer).
