High-end silk artistry marks a warm collection from FCN Textiles, featuring both delicate reverie and majestic decoration.
It’ll be an enchanted Winter 2019/20 at France’s FCN Textiles. The collection readied for Blossom Première Vision focuses on three themes.
First, a story of delicacy: the Enchantment theme. Animal and exotic motifs and sublimated flowers are rendered in muted and flashy colours. Whites are wintry. Handles are foamy and downy. In contrast, in the Magistral theme, geometric patterns and elegant florals merge, composing monumental grounds. An intermediate theme, Horta, connects these two extremes through its curves and arabesques.
“We wanted to retain a little bit of a summery warmth this winter,” said Najib Chtata, Creative Director.
The season’s stylistic innovations bring life to contemporary jacquards, to structured fabrics with matte/shiny effects, and strong plays on volume.
Renowned for their jacquards, cut-yarn and brocade fabrics, FCN Textiles works a variety of weaves – satin, chiffon, crepe, tweed and velvet – to appeal to haute couture and high-end ready-to-wear.
The manufacturing is 100% French. A mastery of CAD for both jacquards and prints allows for the production of small series. Nearly 12,000 patterns and several thousand sketches form a creative heritage, including invaluable archives from the 1830-1970 period.
