SATAB, the French and European leader in narrow textiles, is an independent family-run business, established back in 1905 in Saint-Just Malmont, creating, weaving and knitting ribbons, braids, webbing, cords and other narrow fabric items.
For several years now, Satab has been keen to develop its range of eco-friendly ribbons in response to a strong demand from its customers in search of more environmentally-friendly products.
The year 2020 marks the achievement of 2 certifications of which we are proud.
As part of our CSR approach, we obtained the GOTS certification for more eco-friendly and people-centric products.
Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is a worldwide standard that takes into account the entire textile production process, covering:
- the integrity and traceability of raw materials
- respect for the environment
- consumer health
- social criteria
Satab is certified level 1 “Organic Textiles” for its range of 100% organic cotton ribbons.
We have also earned the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification for the development of special ribbons to accommodate customer demands.
RANGE OF ORGANIC COTTON RIBBONS
We currently offer 3 different weaves (grosgrain/taffeta/twill) to meet the aesthetic requirements of our customers. Other developments are under way.
RECYCLED POLYESTER SATIN
This recycled polyester satin comes in a wide range of colours. It meets the needs of our customers increasingly eager to have quality items without neglecting the aesthetics of the substrate.
This Lyocell cord has been developed to bolster our eco-friendly range. Lyocell is a more eco-friendly man-made fibre (alternative to viscose).
Our R&D and style department is constantly striving to maximize the diverse expertise of our offering with the aim of discovering the new raw materials that will make up our ribbons of tomorrow.
