The concept behind PIOVESE ELEMENTS is a commitment to research, development and production of leather and non-leather accessories that can minimize environmental impact. It represents our visionary approach to the research of raw materials and the harmony that can coexist between craftsmanship and nature.
PIOVESE ELEMENTS has been inspired by the 4 natural elements: water, earth, air and fire, which create the basis of our new concept of environmentally friendly supply chains and materials.
PIOVESE ELEMENTS is all about bringing life to accessories under the guidance of mother nature.
WATER: Piovese Rainbow
In PIOVESE RAINBOW, WATER drives the research and development of water-based colour dyes, without the use of solvents.
Not only does this protect the environment, but also improves health and working conditions.
The PIOVESE RAINBOW dyeing process fulfils a variety of requirements, optimizing the most crucial aspects of the company’s products and services:
- High colour-washing resistance (water-based colours)
- High bleeding and rubbing resistance in both dry and wet conditions
- High resistance to flexing and bending
- Lower environmental impact
- High energy efficiency
- Unlike what happens when dealing with traditional colour printing, the texture is not covered when using valuable materials.
Primitive colours from herbs, flowers and plants
Organic and eco-friendly natural colour dyes of plant origin.
Plants are dried and milled, then processed with water-based solutions.
The natural beauty of these colours enhance the handcrafted elements of these unique labels, which will strengthen the character of your denim.
EARTH: Piovese Naturals
In PIOVESE NATURALS, EARTH drives the choice of suppliers and the materials they use. The latter are exclusively produced by mother nature, and include jute, cork, sand, wood and FSC certificated paper. Alternatively, they are created via a recycling process.
As to the leather, Piovese Naturals offers organic tanning, leather with reduced percentage of chrome and formaldehyde, without azo dye, as well as hypoallergenic leathers.
Vegetal Tanned Leather
- Tanned using exclusively organic ingredients, with no use of chemicals.
- Processed without the use of metals, chrome or other chemicals.
- Hypoallergenic and safe for skin contact.
- Biodegradable and environment-friendly.
- Recyclable, and with low environmental impact.
The recycled leather is obtained through a grinding process that combines 80% leather scraps with a remaining 20% mixture of latex, synthetic compounds or natural rubbers.
The manufacturing technique is similar to the one used to make recycled paper.
Piovese Chrome Free Leather
This special leather is produced with 0% chrome. It’s environmentally-friendly, and it has a reduced environmental impact and low emissions.
The company creates labels using cellulose-based, sustainable materials. Once their lifespan is over, their natural composition allows them to be 100% environmentally friendly.
Biodegradable labels are soft and nice to the touch, and they can be processed to give them specific effects and a unique look.
Why choose biodegradable methods?
- They solve the waste disposal issue needed for petroleum derived plastic
- They reduce waste management costs, which are strongly linked to agricultural and food industries
- Biodegradable material can also be recycled
- Lower emission of toxic fumes in case of incineration
- Cleaner production chain and materials
The Green Label
Piovese creates the label using polyester fibres, polyurethane and through recycling PET, reducing resource waste by 80%. With 245 labels they can recycle 20 PET plastic bottles.
How is the Green Label sustainable?
The Green Label is sustainable for the following reasons:
- It is made with recycled materials
- It cuts CO2 emissions
- The label itself is recyclable
- It makes use of an eco-friendly production process
Fruit vegetable leather
Sustainable labels and details are created with FRUIT VEGETABLE LEATHER.
This makes use of an eco-friendly production process: it is created using recycling materials, which make it possible to cut CO2 emissions.
Thanks to its natural composition, the label is non-toxic, and it does not impact the environment at the end of its life cycle. It’s pleasant to the touch.
This material was created through a process that uses organic residue (fruits, coffee, olives…) to replace up to 15% virgin tree pulp. It’s perfect for making hangtags and packaging articles.
AIR: Piovese Dryscratch
In PIOVESE DRYSCRATCH, AIR leads us to research sustainable and sophisticated technologies to aid us in the aging process of leather and non-leather accessories, all without using water or any other traditional industrial washing.
With this modern approach, the company can achieve a 200,000 litre yearly saving of H2O.
FIRE: Piovese Flames
In PIOVESE FLAMES, FIRE leads us towards the use of laser and other innovative technologies to enable the easy replication of any graphic element on various materials. This is a tool of the highest value when it comes to supporting our graphic and design department.
PIOVESE FLAMES also reduces cost thanks to faster operations and greater flexibility in changes, avoiding material set ups that need to be disposed at the end of production.
Finally, PIOVESE can produce its own electricity via the company solar energy plant.
