Trend 1-Restructured Classics

The Classics return this Fall/Winter 2020 season, elevating casual wear by combining it with tailored silhouettes.  With unemployment decreasing, and more people entering the job market, casual components are mixed with tailored clothing.  Clean lines emerge, along with utility details and structure.  Women’s apparel features fluidity and femininity.  Men’s wear silhouettes are slightly relaxed.  Classic menswear fabrics and patterns emerge featuring traditional colors such as Grays, Navy, and Grayed off Browns. Sweaters and knitwear feature unexpected pops of color, which adds versatility and newness to the restructured classics.

Cozy Country

The great outdoors and the autumn country side influences apparel and color for the fall season.  This trend is driven by fabric, finishes, color, and patterns.  Autumn colors emerge featuring spicy Oranges, warm Golds, wood Browns, and organic Greens.  Natural Heather shades are key.  Cozy fabrics emerge, featuring plush, peached, padded, suede surfaces, or vintage finishes.  Felted Wool, Tweeds, Polar Fleece, and Flannel fabrics move to the front of the line.  Texture appears in knits and woven fabrics.  The sweater and knitwear category is up-trending. Woven shirts feature, rustic plaids, tartan plaids, and buffalo checks. Pattern mixing creates newness.

Rainbow Metals

This Fall/Winter 2020 season highlights the trend of opulence, glamour, and elevated luxury.  Luxe fabrics return such as Silk, Satin, Brocades, Velvets, Furs, and luxury Leathers, but the main attractions of the season are metallic, glitter, or luster colors.  Metallic, metal shades emerge along with jewel tone glitter colors, contrasting against dark, opulent, rich shades. These properties create a rainbow exhibit of metal, luxe shades.  The rainbow metals enhance both knit and woven fabrics while crossing over both casual and dress categories.
