Seven new companies specialised in flat-bed knits will make their first appearance at Manufacturing Knitwear. Take a look at their savoir-faire and the collection you can discover on their stand next September.
Gavipunt – ES
Located near Barcelona, this company produces premium women’s knitted fabrics, using yarns selected from Italian yarn makers. Its top-of-the-range Japanese machines (Shima Seiki) allow it to adapt to specific demands from labels, and it can offer a range of gauges (126.96.36.199). Specialised in sweaters and jackets but also producing blankets, scarves, pompom hats and other headgear, Gavipunt can produce 380 000 items per year.
Inner Mongolia – CH
Named after its location in Inner Mongolia, this company is a leading producer of cashmere, from the yarn to the finished product. Its innovative technologies allow it to meet specific orders and to obtain soft blends (cashmere and silk, cashmere and wool). The company specialises in the production of sweaters, hats, gloves, shawls, scarves and blankets. Each year, it exports some 300,000 items to Denmark, the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, Japan and Korea.
Listed at the Shenzhen stock market, Ningxia Zhongyin Cashmere is the largest cashmere yarn maker in the world. Founded in 1988 in Linwu, the company started out spinning this luxurious fibre before expanding to become a global player in the cashmere sector. Thanks to its yarn and knitwear plants in China and Cambodia, it has launched its own labels (Todd & Duncan, Brown Allan, Philosofie) and is developing its activities in Europe, Japan, South Korea and North America.
Pluswin – CH
Pluswin has made cashmere the focus of its work for more than 20 years, from the thread to the clothing via the fabric and knits. Each year, it produces 500 million tons of thread and more than 800 000 items in cashmere: sweaters, skirts, trousers, jackets, underwear, ponchos and coats. A range that is completed by accessories – scarves, gloves, hats, sleeping masks – and homeware such as throws, plaids and cushions. It supplies fast fashion labels, and large American and European department stores.
Springair – CH
The cashmere garments from Springair travel around the world. For around 20 years, this Chinese company has been making knitted garments – trousers, jackets, sweaters, coats, jackets and sweats – for premium American and European labels. Located at Hangzhou, it has its own spinning facility for cashmere and merino wool. Its flat-bed knitting unit produces 60 000 items per month. The production offers careful finishes.
Xiangrong – CH
Located in Shanghai, this knitted fabric producer uses the latest generation of Stoll flatbed machines to ensure the quality of its products. Founded in 1997, the company has real expertise in fine-gauge knitwear, with around 60 machines adapted to gauge 16, as well as gauge 18 capacity. It produces 70 000 items per month – cardigans, sweaters, waistcoats, dresses, skirts, short and long jackets – for its mainly European and Japanese clients.
Xinchang Yabao – CH
This Chinese company knits cashmere sweaters. Whether they are large or fine knit, fashion knits or simple basics, they always have one thing in common: high quality. Created in 2002 and located at Xinchang in Zheijiang province, Yabao also offers models in wool mix. Its style bureau enriches its collections with 300 new items per year and its factory produces some 800 000 items annually. This knitwear producer has already won over creative French womenswear labels.
