Spring/Summer 21 looks to be a season driven by a caring desire to take action, to forge ahead and mark a turning point in eco-responsible approaches: a desire for consistency and a refocusing on the Essential.
We’re more than ever eliminating the superfluous to more fully reveal the materials. In the leather goods sector, the search for exceptional skins takes on its full meaning. Shapes make no concession, and are beautifully pared down to reveal leathers that brilliantly combine innovation, technology and eco-responsibility. Reduction becomes a positive, truly creative action: with their outward simplicity, objects become highly desirable.
In the bag family, new intelligent developments are emerging in answer to our evolving city mobility and fast-paced lifestyles.
New XXL sizes worked in leathers with new properties combine style, practicality and performance. Volumes expand and inflate to create ultra-flexible messenger bags, banana bags slung over the shoulder or elegantly functional multi-pocketed belts. When made of washable, water-repellent leather, they brave the elements and can brush playfully against the ground.
Perfect for carrying everything needed for our multifaceted daily lives, backpacks are given a refresh with new high strengths, feather weights and a creative play of overstitching and quilting.
Textures are sometimes matt or powdery, lending pastel and acid shades a striking modernity.
Bags sometimes openly dip into sportswear codes. Hobo-style bags are worked in perforated leather with a mesh or fishnet look, in silvery bi-material leather or in smooth leather with a neoprene finish.
A certain urban poetry slips into footwear as well.
Chunky-soled sneakers, in colourblocks mixing pastels and brights, skilfully combine couture and sporty materials: shiny material, perforated leather and neoprene.
In more summery versions, sandals feature a hybrid, slightly futuristic look bridging sport and evening – with padded and iridescent flip-flops and beach mules

Small volumes for high impact
Bags take an uncompromising stance, and are always extremely pared-down. When square and sleek, they leave no room for anything superfluous: think miniature pochettes with the look of unisex, ultra-modern minaudière bags for laptops or e-cigarette cases designed for young nomads. Leather, sometimes two-toned or worked in dual materials, vegetable-tanned or chromium-free, has a new luminosity, featuring technology that opens the door to paler, very pure shades. Bases are more rigid, as if laser-cut, for an extreme, high-quality minimalism.
In more evening versions, envelope, baguette and bucket bags are adorned with opulently baroque jewellery, brooches or embroideries. “Bijou” bags are worked in nappa leather with an extremely subtle shine, or in peach-skin velvet calf-leather, in darkly pigmented colour schemes or in a range of delectable naturals.
This jewel-like bag is the perfect accompaniment to a long and fitted dress, to go with a seductive, couture and glamorous look. An asymmetrical top in heavy satin with an oversized flounce teamed with a side-split pencil skirt worn with the high-heeled Roman sandals of a modern gladiator.

For the S/S 21 season, know-how takes centre stage and is paired with industrial technology.
Caning-style or braided leathers in a saddlery vein take on more fanciful aspects thanks to daring colour combinations. Leathers are adorned in miniature geometrical motifs, or in tone-on-tone prints in a quilted, honeycomb style.
Flip-flops and mules worked in thick or exotic leathers and amber, laser-cut-looking tones, in pure and imposing shapes, are trimmed with big composite buckles or raffia details. Sometimes the heel and sole play on the contrast between the surface and the edge of the leather. Bags made from leather, thick canvas and straw with a deceptively rustic air evoke modern beach hampers.
