Denim Power

Driven by an upsurge in jeanswear and a growing crossover between casual and chic styles, denim-makers in the Upper Jeanswear sector are evolving their know-how and technologies to meet the demand for nonchalant and elegant fashions, zeroing in on the needs of brands and the public.ts

Taiwan-based A&A Textile and 496 Fabric Lab. are going all in on fantasy.

At A&A Textile, quality natural fibres (cotton, TENCEL®) are accompanied by constant research into the market’s latest trends, which for next season favour very light women’s denims with refined lines and fancy visual effects, whether jacquard or printed, geometric, linear or floral.

Fantasy is also at the core of the latest denim trends at 496 Fabric Lab., which puts its jacquard expertise to use in a new, rich and creative luxury-denim concept: for next season, this Taiwanese company is presenting organza, tweed and cut-yarn denims playing on contrasts between lightness and substance, a masculine/feminine spirit, regular and irregular motifs, for geometric animal or woven effects that are always surprising.

At Textil Santanderina, quality and responsibility are the real keys to re-imagining tomorrow’s blue jeans. Denims in this Spanish weaver’s new R/DENIM collection combine organic and recycled materials (recycled cotton and polyester, TENCEL® recycled TwoTen, SeaqualTM, EcoVero ecological viscose, Eco-Indigo) with transparent and fully traceable certified made in Europe production processes, in keeping with the R/TURN label’s motto for a new circular economy: “Recycle / Reuse / Reduce”. For AH19, Textil Santanderina SA goes in for understated denims in contrasting colours, mixed with deep black and grey yarn-dyed or slub-effect tones, along with more classic stretch and comfort models, enriched with a new responsible spirit.

Quality, responsibility, creativity are all key values in reinventing the denims of tomorrow.
