Spring summer 2020 calls for a committed, conspicuous, different and disruptive fashion season.
Lightness, freedom, impact, transformation, agility, nonconformity, surprise, humour and responsibility are all key to the spring summer 2020 season.
The “synthetic pollinators” by Australian artist Michael Candy – robot-like rapeseed flowers posited in open fields and offered up to bees – aptly reflect the spirit of the season. Here, new technologies are combined with nature, intending to work with it rather than against it. Futurism and eco-responsibility come together in synergy, and the very bizarreness of the work is also beneficial, helping to call out the problem and, even more importantly, suggest solutions.
