“A year and a half ago, we started developing bonded fabrics. And those became a leading theme for us. So we took off in this spirit, by playing with an aspect that have a quite tangible handle and a certain density, while actually being quite fl uid. We are presenting a polyester microfibre whose double weave gives it its overall feel, and whose finishing accentuates softness, suppleness and elasticity. This way you get a draped effect without any rigidity. It has many more potential uses than a bonded fabric.”

LORENZO PASQUINI, LANIFICIO LUIGI COLOMBO (PREMIÈRE VISION, 6J2-6K1)
“Combining thickness and a very typical winter look with lightness is a new trend. We’re in the heart of this vein, and we are presenting pure long-hair or shorn cashmeres, stretch or bi-stretch cashmeres, fairly thick and quite soft stretch alpacas, all of which are light, even really light. And each time their weight completely contradicts their aspect. It’s an interesting way of updating classic fabrics while perpetuating a specificially luxury know-how. Obviously, the goal continues to be to create new fabrics which stand out thanks to their creativity.”

VINCENZO BOLDETTI, MOTTA ALFREDO (CUIR À PARIS, 3H11)
“We are increasingly betting on more supple and fluid skins. Over the past two years, we have been presenting stretch leathers. It took us a while to develop them, but now we are stepping up these Napa, soft and milled leather references with 3% Lycra. They’re greatly appreciated for their comfort. We are also presenting a very supple dipped lambskin with an incomparably reassuring softness – soft as a baby!”

MARIA ZOREC, PREDILNICA LITIJA (EXPOFIL, 5P82)
“We work above all in the fi eld of technical and professional fabrics, but when the fashion world calls on us, we adapt to their need for functionality. We are developing in particular several yarns made with XLA fibre, which has excellent performance features. Blended with Tencel, it produces a yarn that makes fabrics with excellent elasticity, that retain their stretch and won’t wrinkle. They lend suppleness, softness and a good drape to the final product.”
