A selection of addresses from our concierge

Tucked away on little side streets are a few casual places with great food, wine bars/eateries worth discovering during your stay...

La Maison de l’Aubrac, 37 rue Marbeuf, Paris 8e

Push open the door of this establishment dedicated to meat lovers.... and what meat, that of the Aubrac! A real French Kobe. Owners Christian and Elizabeth Valletta are also breeders, and they welcome you to enjoy a wonderful selection of meats. Enjoy them accompanied with an authentic "aligot", mashed potatoes with garlic and cheese.

Maison Blanche, 15 Avenue Montaigne, Paris 8e...

The most beautiful view of Paris: the Eiffel Tower and the Invalides, take advantage of its two terraces and also the kitchen of Pourcel brothers. On Saturdays night, the restaurant becomes a club " La White Room " from 00:30 am.

Le Petit Marguery, 9 boulevard du Port Royal, Paris 13e

A tribute to French cuisine in a Belle Époque decor. A place to try kingly dishes such as royal hare, Chateaubriand-style bouchées a la reine, and roast partridge, not forgetting the Grand Marnier soufflé.

La Boulangerie, 15 rue Panoyaux, Paris 20e

A unique spot, first for the Parisian setting, then for the cuisine, not to mention the wine list, which contains real pearls. The owner is passionate, the service is cheerful. Don't walk, run!

A pastry shop of course: Cyril Lignac, 24 rue Paul Bert, 11e

You must try the Caramélia. This is one of my favourite cakes: I would run a marathon on my knees to eat one again. This confection by Cyril Lignac is a chocolate religieuse that's been completely reinvented: less sweet, with caramel... but I won't say a word more. And if needed, do cross the street for lunch at Chardenoux, a traditional restaurant Lignac has taken over and manages with talent. A cosy address.

La cave de l’insolite, 30 rue de la Folie Méricourt, Paris 11e

Reminiscent of an artist's studio, this cabinet of curiosities offers a fine selection of natural wines amidst the antiques, and also serves plates of cheese and charcuterie throughout the day. (10:30h. -8:30h.)

Ô Château, 68 rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Paris 1er

Paris's first wine bar featuring a selection of  grands crus. Nicolas and Olivier love sharing their passion with amateurs and connoisseurs. Over 40 references by the glass and 400 in the cellar. You can also dine here and chat with your neighbours at the communal table. Not to be missed. (4h. – midnight)

Le Bien décidé, 117 rue du Cherche Midi, Paris 6e

A great local address to step into the atmosphere and hospitality of long-ago Paris. Juicy and tasty meat dishes, served with fine wines, owned by Gérard Depardieu.

Jaja, 3 rue Sainte Croix de la Bretonnerie, Paris 3

Bistro cooking, gourmet dishes, attentive service. There are also tables on the veranda in the courtyard.

L’Auberge du 15, 15 rue de la Santé,  Paris 13e

Good food and kitchen know-how accompanied by a lively and upbeat atmosphere set off this new neighbourhood bistro, where dishes are placed in the middle of the table and you help yourself. Everything I like!

Rino, 46 rue Trousseau, Paris 11e

A good casual place that hits the right notes, with a true market cuisine as none of the dishes are prepared in advance.

Le Septime, 80 rue de Charonne, Paris 11e

The hottest bistro in town, with superb cooking - natural, generous and spontaneous. The interior features raw-wood tables, an open kitchen and a very professional team working the room.

La Bonne Franquette, 3 rue des Saules, Paris 18e

A picture postcard of Montmartre, right in front of the vines. A restaurant serving, among other things, the best profiteroles I've ever eaten. Classic Parisian bistro atmosphere.

Le Camélia et le Sur-mesure.

Since our last show in January, some great places have opened in Paris, in particular the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, with two restaurants  headed up by chef Thierry Marx, back in Paris after a spell in Bordeaux. In this Faubourg St. Honoré flagship, everything to eat and drink is under his responsibility, so everything is spot-on!

Sur-Mesure -the hotel's gastronomic restaurant - proposes a brilliantly haute-cuisine experience.

You can also sample the chef's creations at the Camellia restaurant, open all-day from 11h to 23h. The decor espouses an Oriental balance, at once elegant and modern.
And after work, try the patio for cocktails - a fine place to kick-off an oh-so Parisian evening.
