Sunday April 29, 6:30 pm. The Jury, presided over by Yohji Yamamoto, reward the winner of the Première Vision Prize:
Ragne Kikas, a young Estonian designer based in Hamburg (Germany), has won one of four Prizes attributed in the Fashion Competition of the Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography.
Ragne Kikas has also been rewarded with the Public Prize of the City of Hyères.
Selected from among ten finalists, Ragne Kikas offers her vision of the radical. She takes inspiration from 15th and 16th Century armour, whose inflexible and angular shapes she translates into knits, her preferred medium. Each silhouette must be a new sculptural enigma, both evident and impenetrable at the same time.
The collection was produced with the support of Première Vision, ModAmont and Expofil: Close to Clothes, Eclair Prym Belgium S.A., and Tearfil Textile Yarns.
This is the second year in a row that Première Vision, the World’s Premier Fabric ShowTM, has partnered with the Hyères Festival and sponsored one of its prizes, in the amount of 10,000 euros. But the Première Vision Prize goes beyond the awarding of the prize money to the winning young designer.
Première Vision, whose vocation is to strengthen contacts between professionals in these most creative fields, is fully committed to this programme to support young design talents, and to building a long-term relationship.
Thus, well ahead of the Prize itself, Première Vision accorded a special welcome to the ten finalists at the February 2012 show. This allowed these young talents to forge direct contacts with exhibiting spinners, weavers, and accessories manufacturers.
Next 11 and 12 July, at Première Vision Preview New York, Ragne Kikas is invited to present her work to the press and other North American fashion professionals.
The following step will takes place in Paris: Ragne Kikas, during the Première Vision Pluriel shows (19-21 September 2012), will be a member of the Jury of the PV Awards on September 21. It will also be the occasion to show her work to the 55,000 industry professionals from more than 100 countries that visit Première Vision Pluriel each season.
Première Vision, the world’s premier fabric show, brings its support to the International Festival of Fashion and Photography at Hyères, taking place next 27 - 30 April at the Villa Noailles.
Last February, Première Vision welcomed the 10 fashion-competition finalists so they might meet the 90 exhibitors who responded positively to the call from Première Vision, ModAmont (International Show of Trimmings and Supplies for Fashion and Design) and Expofil (International Show of Yarns and Fibres).
Depending on their project, the 10 young designers selected yarns, fabrics or accessories from: Action Maille, AT+T Advanced transfers & technologies, Bel Maille, British Millerain, Cadicagroup, Close to Clothes, Eclair Prym Belgium, Etimed, FCN Textiles, Frizza, Furpile Maglia, Furpile Maglia / Linea Ross, Gentili, Meridyen, JRC Reflex, Infinity, Kuroki, Limonta, Lyria, Nuovatess / Linea Maga Jersey, Olmetex, Prym Fashion, Ricamificio Levi, Saydam, Schoeller, Soieries Roger Cheval, Solstiss, Styletex, Stib19, Taroni, Tearfil Textile Yarns, Ventures, Vialaton & Martin, YKK.
Léa Peckre, the 2011 winner of the Grand Prix du Jury L’Oréal Professionnel for fashion, and Céline Méteil, winner of the 2011 Première Vision Prize and the City of Hyères Public Prize, also received support from Première Vision and ModAmont exhibitors for the development of their collections that will be shown on the catwalk at the Hyères Festival next 27 to 30 April.
In particular, Léa Peckre had the support of ACD Maille, DGE and Malhia Kent, while Céline Méteil had the support of Marioboselli Yarns and Jersey and Sophie Hallette.
The Première Vision Prize at the Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography, worth 10,000 euros, will go to the successor of Céline Méteil, the 2011 winner.
For the second consecutive year Première Vision, the world’s leading fashion-textiles show, is an official partner of the Hyères Fashion Festival, running from 27 to 30 April. Under the aegis of President Yohji Yamamoto, the Première Vision Prize, worth 10,000 euros, will be awarded to one of ten talented finalists.
In addition to the prize that bears its name, Première Vision has committed, through this partnership, to lend its support to the young designers, and provide a real accompaniment to the 10 candidates selected by the Jury earlier this year. To this end, the finalists received a privileged welcome last 14 February at the Parc d’Expositions Paris Nord-Villepinte by some one hundred exhibitors from Première Vision, Expofil and ModAmont.
Among these visitors will be the successor to Céline Méteil, the first winner of the Première Vision Prize in 2011.
All ten finalists enjoyed an exceptional welcome from exhibitors, who work with the biggest fashion houses and brands and who offered to support these young international designers on the road to success. The Hyères Festival is an undeniable stepping-stone and a boost their careers.
Watch the video of this special day of introductions, as these young designers make their first contacts and discover the high-level offer at show, in preparation of the collections they will be presenting to the jury just one month from now.

Within the framework of the «11th International Textile and Fashion Conferences», the Hyères Festival will welcome Première Vision to a discussion of the topic: «Know-how: an antidote to standardization»
As a reminder: last September, Première Vision launched the «Maison d’Exceptions», a specific area at the show dedicated to Ultimate creativity.
Participants in the roundtable, moderated by Pascal Gautrand, fashion designer and consultant, will include:

The Première Vision and Expofil shows, held last 14 to 16 February at the Parc d’Expositions of Paris-Nord Villepinte, demonstrated their vitality and powerful global appeal at a time when economic concerns and uncertainty are more than ever present in Europe.
In three days, the two shows registered 43,278 visits, 73% from international visitors who came to Paris to discover the offer presented by the 713 exhibitors (11 more than February 2011).
And despite the pessimism prevalent in Europe and the slowdown in economic activity, seen particularly in the decline of the Italian (-12%), Belgian (-14%) contingents, there were 32,710 industry professionals from the European Union assured of finding the most complete and inspiring textile offer.

Knitwear Solutions was born of an observation: fashion brands are developing comprehensive collections with knits playing a central role. Knitwear represents about 20% to 40% of the product offer in ready-to- wear brands.
Yet the flat-bed knitting industry is missing at Première Vision, the world's leading show of clothing fabrics, which aims to propose the most comprehensive offer of textiles to fashion companies.

Première Vision S.A., holder of a 49% stake in ModAmont SAS since 2007, has just taken full control on Friday 2 December of the company that organises the ModAmont show specializing in fashion accessories and components, by purchasing the 51% stake held by Tarsus France SAS.
ModAmont has been fully integrated from the start in Première Vision Pluriel, a group of trade shows targeting fashion professionals that is held twice a year, in February and September, in Paris-Nord Villepinte. Over the past 15 years ModAmont has acquired a world leadership position in its market. At its most recent edition last September, the event brought together 289 exhibitors from 25 countries and welcomed more than 21,000 visitors, 60% coming from abroad.
With this operation, Première Vision S.A. will hold 24 trade shows in 2012 in France, Belgium, Brazil, China, Russia and the United States, and is rounding out its portfolio of global brands in the field of material and services for the fashion and home industries, with Première Vision for fabrics, Indigo (designs), Expofil (yarns and fibres) and now ModAmont (accessories). The group will gather together more than 3,600 exhibitors and welcome about 200,000 international professional visitors from all around the globe with a turnover exceeding 42 million euros.
Première Vision, which has been holding the operational direction of ModAmont since 2007, will integrate this new activity easily. The management of the show will remain entrusted to Gilles Lasbordes, a member of the executive board of Première Vision S.A., assisted by the current team. The strategic positioning of the Paris show will be confirmed, and synergies will be developed gradually with the other activities of Première Vision, particularly abroad.
Première Vision S.A is controlled for 51% by Association Première Vision, that gathers 5 French textile trade associations and 49% by GL Events, a leading international event group.
Following on the success of Denim by Première Vision Paris, continually growing strong after nine seasons, Première Vision SA continues its international expansion by launching Denim by Première Vision Asia, «The event for premium brands in Shanghai»
China, by now the second world power, and more broadly Asia, were natural choices for Première Vision SA, which continues its successful international expansion.
A high-growth region, China has in a mere few years become an economic and demographic hub, with an interest in premium textiles and a new denim consumer market increasingly attentive to the fashion content of products.
Which is why Première Vision SA, the world leader in fashion-fabric trade fairs, is strengthening its position on this continent, where the stakes are so vast, thanks to the new Denim by Première Vision Asia show.
With its particularly pertinent and unique concept, Denim by Première Vision has skilfully brought together the industry’s most creative and innovative international companies.
As an extension of the Paris concept, which will have assembled a full 81 exhibitors this year, Denim by Première Vision Asia will accompany the companies selected by Denim by Première Vision Paris, rounding them out with a local offer (from China, Japan, Southeast Asia, etc.), primarily comprised of companies specialised in manufacturing / washing-out. The latter must meet the selection criteria and standards of Denim by Première Vision.
This unprecedented show will provide a work platform for jeanswear buyers from China as well as other parts of Asia. Thus, a broad promotion and marketing plan will be deployed beyond the Chinese domestic market, targeting brands from Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan so as to offer premium local sourcing.
Denim by Première Vision Asia is planning to welcome some forty exhibitors for its first edition.
The twice-yearly show will take place in Shanghai, a strategic Chinese mega-city, in a not-yet revealed venue in keeping with the unique style and codes of the denim community.
It will be held the third week of October 2012, already a major appointment for the fashion/textile industry in Shanghai with the by-now established Première Vision China, and other key events ensuring a very large presence of jeanswear industry buyers and professionals.
The Denim by Première Vision success story should therefore be extended in less than a year to fertile Asian regions.
Because a growing number of Turkish companies visit or exhibit at the Première Vision SA shows, and because the fast-growing Turkish market is now a strategic place for its activities, Première Vision is strengthening its promotional operations in Turkey. Represented since 2009 by Mr Haluk Ogan, it now has a permanent liaison office, in Istanbul: Première Vision Turkey, run by Ms Nihal Kaya.
In Asia, to develop Première Vision shows on Chinese soil and further the local promotion of its international events, the Première Vision office in Shanghai has strengthened its skills in marketing and fashion, with Mrs Wei Duanmu, the current Première Vision representative, now assisted by Mrs Yanping Murer and Mr Thomas Baudin.
The new office, now with a dedicated team of four persons, covers mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. It is located in the offices of GL events, Première Vision's partner and shareholder, thus enjoying both the support and experience of its manager, Mr Jean Guillaume Lacoste.
In the Americas, Première Vision Inc., the Première Vision subsidiary based in New York, now manages five annual events (two sessions of Première Vision Preview New York and three editions of Indigo New York), in addition to its marketing missions targeting North American visitors for international operations. To handle the growth in operations there, it will begin recruiting in early 2012 in search of new skill mixes to strengthen the team led by Mr Thierry Langlais.
