Since 2011, Première Vision has lent its name to one of the prizes awarded during the Fashion Competition held yearly at Hyères since 1986, which has led to the discovery of some of today's most established fashion designers, including Viktor & Rolf, Gaspard Yurkievich, Felipe Oliveira Baptista and Anthony Vaccarello.
The winner receives a 10,000 euro prize and material support from Première Vision.
The first, essential step of the partnership with Première Vision is putting the 10 finalists chosen by the 2012 jury, presided over by Yohji Yamamoto, in contact with those exhibitors at Première Vision, Expofil and ModAmont who have offered to support the young designers by providing them with supplies to produce the collections they will be presenting on 27 - 30 April 2012.
To ready the collections they will be showing on the Festival catwalks next 27-29 April, these young designers were given access to all Première Vision Pluriel exhibitors, with a special welcome at the 100 stands that responded to Première Vision’s call to be their creative Partners.
Some 66 exhibitors showing at Première Vision and Expofil, and 24 at ModAmont, answered favourably to this call for support from Première Vision.
The meetings and dialogue between the young designers and industry professionals will take place in a privileged atmosphere at the Paris show. Première Vision invites the 10 finalists to visit all of Première Vision Pluriel on Tuesday 14 February. The day will begin with a meeting with the shows' teams to give them the tools and guidance as to how to best take advantage of the unique platform provided by the shows.
Première Vision's commitment to young designers goes further, providing a true accompaniment to the winner of the 2012 Première Vision Prize. The winner will be given an important visibility and a showcase at the Première Vision events, in particular at the show held next 19-21 September, with a presentation of their work. Last September, for example, the 2011 Première Vision prizewinner, Céline Méteil, showed her work in a pop-up shop at the show.
