Fast-drying
An appealing selection of "fast drying fabrics" is found in the Pulsation forum. The must-haves are the polo knit piqués, like those from Fieratex. To outfit hikers, there are jacket-weight trousers from Balas Textile are anti-UV, and check shirtings from Everest Textile.  And brave any gusts in the quick dry windbreaker fabrics at Sedatex and Corti. For girls, second-skin knits from Hyosung and Paka Textile pave the way for ultra-feminine t-shirts, with petal effects. And the white poplin at Verne et Clet is just waiting for a suit.

The police and counterfeiting
A delegation of officers from the national police force, headed up by Army General Marc Watin-Augouard, were at the show Wednesday, to assist with a project focused on the fight against counterfeiting. The meeting, held at the request of Attorney Champagner-Katz, a specialist in intellectual property theft in the textile sector, was aimed at bringing together government agencies and companies to discuss economic safety and design protection.

Say "Reach" to the IFTH
Do the Reach regulations affect your company? Absolutely. And if the administrative, organisational or technical formalities have you worried, the French Textile and Clothing Institute is offering its expertise and its advice concerning the tests to be undertaken, the real risks to be identified, and how to establish traceability.

Thanks for coming Mr Keeney
Pat Keeney, senior cloth designers at Johnstons of Elgin, known among his friends and colleagues as a gentleman of the tweed trade, is retiring after 49 years in the textile industry. In the course of his career, he has worked with six British mills and he reckons he has spent over a year of his life at Première Vision. James Sugden, director of Johnstons, said Pat’s integrity, incredible taste and experience will be missed by his colleagues and clients alike.
