Virtuosity in linen major

Without ever losing its vegetal nobility, linen lends itself to the multiple workings of the textile imagination. Enhanced by blends, treatments, and ever more daring finishings, it’s incredibly modern.

We’ve always loved this vegetal fibre. Each season we explore the intricacies of weaving and finishing it, to make the most of its infinite richness. Look at this photo of the curtains in my home: look how linen filters the light, while making the countryside beautiful! For summer 13, we elaborated transparency with a certain consistency, a structured simplicity. We also have crêpe effects: from gossamer, re-gauged voiles, to double-faces and almost 3D raised aspects, all bathed in sophisticated plant colours, as if whitened by light or bluish with indigo.

Cristian Graziotti / general manager, Infinity
To us, linen is anything but classic. I would say it is the most advanced ground in our refined sportswear collection, both the cotton-linen blends and the extra fine pure linens. Linen has all the virtues: natural crispness, a supple handle that lends a sophisticated look to our very easy-living, casual spirit. We’re proposing a whirlwind of versions, both sober and subtle, around this incredibly unique natural fibre: drills, broken twills, stonewashed, yarn-dyed effects in basic weaves, chinés or mini-striped (including washout-able stripes), silky cupro-linen blends, and “leather finish” coatings.

Walid K. Bathich / regional director, Holland & Sherry
Keynotes of our suiting collections have always been a combination of refined elegance and impeccable quality... English-style. Linen interests us because it has exactly the qualities we love: a kind of noble vegetal freshness that’s undetectable to non-connoisseurs, synonymous with true luxury, guaranteeing a chic and casual comfort for the contemporary suit. Our South Pacific collection puts this nobility front and centre, in updated versions of herringbones, mini-stripes and slubs, available in a range of equally delightfully-fresh colours.

Eric Guegain / director, Albert Guegain
Linen is like a blast of country freshness in the world of embroidery! It provides the simple, authentic, slightly naive side of an unpretentious ground, while letting the imagination roam free through the decoration. Our floral motifs are broken down in fresh, vegetal colours, tone-on-tone or multi-coloured.
Garlands in small cross-stitches or finely embroidered march finely across braids, or treat themselves to large-scale fantasy, engineered along the edge or bottom of fabric. Linen is both delicious and easy, and naturally appealing.
